x + 7 > 0 , x > -7
2x -5 > 0 , 2x > 5 , x > 2.5
since that if x is more than 2.5 ,it will be more than -7
so the correct answer is x > 2.5

Short Answer D
The point here is that the angle on the left (64o) produces a longer base line than the angle (35o) on the right. That means you need to set up your inequality to reflect that. It's a neat, but tricky question.
x + 7 > 2x - 5 Add 5 to both sides.
5 + 7 + x > 2x
12 + x > 2x Subtract x from both sides.
12 > 2x - x
12 > x
The minimum distance is when the thirty five degree angle becomes 0.
The distance cannot be less than 0, however.
2x - 5>0
2x > 5
x > 5/2
x > 2.5
So the correct answer to this is
2.5<x< 12
The answer is the 4th one down or D
