The weight of books in order from lightest to heaviest are 1/2, 3/4 and 7/8 pounds.
Weight of math notebook = 1/2 pound= 0.5 pound
Weight of science notebook =
7/8 pound = 0.875 pound
Weight of history notebook = 3/4 pound = 0.75 pound
Comparing 0.5, 0.875 and 0.75 we get
0.5 < 0.75 < 0.875

You can turn the fractions into equal denominators by multiplying the top and bottom equally. So 1/2 is 4/8, 3/4 is 6/8, and so using this we know the order is
1/2,3/4, and 7/8.
