Hey there!

63 + (2x + 8) + (x + 7) = 180

DROP the PARENTHESES:

63 + 2x + 8 + x + 7 = 180

CONVERT TO:

63 + 2x + 8 + 1x + 7 = 180

COMBINE the LIKE TERMS 1:

71 + 3x + 7 = 180

COMBINE the LIKE TERMS 2:

78 + 3x = 180

3x + 78 = 180

SUBTRACT 78 to BOTH SIDES:

3x + 78 - 78 = 180 - 78

SIMPLIFY IT:

3x = 180 - 78

3x = 102

DIVIDE 3 to BOTH SIDES:

3x/3 = 102/3

SIMPLIFY IT:

x = 102/3

x = 34

Therefore, your answer should be:

x = 34

Good luck on your assignment & enjoy your day day!
