The figure in shown is a circle.
The formula for getting the area of a circle is;

Area = πr²
Where r ⇒ radius of the circle
π=3.14

∴ Area = π×18²
=324π² in²

To solve this problem you must apply the formula for calculate the surface area of a circle, which is shown below:
SA=πir^2
where r is the radius of the circle
r=18 inches
By substituying values, you have that the surface area is:
SA=π(18 in)^2
SA=324π in^2
The answer is 324π in^2
