The Surface Area (S.A) of a sphere can be calculated using the following formula:

S.A=4 \pi r^(2)

here, r is the radius of the sphere. From the picture we can see that the diameter of the sphere is given to be 2 inches. Since radius is always half of the diameter, the radius of the sphere will be 1 inch.

Using the value of r we get:

S.A=4 \pi (1) ^(2)=4 \pi =13

Rounding to nearest inch, the surface area of the sphere will be 13 square inches.

So, option C is the correct answer

You must use the formula for calculate the surface area of a sphere, which is:
SA=4pir^2
By using the information given in the problem shown above, you have:
SA=4pir^2
r=1 inch
SA=4pi(1 inch)^2
SA=13 in^2
