Use conversion method to convert gallons of gasoline into cents per kilowatt hour in order to compare the two forms of energy.

(1 gal)/(36 kwhr) x (2.50)/(1 gal) = (2.50)/(36 kwhr) = 0.07

The cost of gas is $0.07 per killowatt hour
The cost of electricity is $0.08 per killowatt hour

Answer: Gasoline is less expensive
