4x = 18-y, if x=2 and y=6

if you're using substitution, solve for the first variable in one of the equations, then substitute the result into another equation. your answer is no solution:

x = 2 ; y = 6

4x = 18 - y
4 (2) = 18 - 6
8 = 12

8 does not equal 12, there is no solution
