But of course, the people of the thirteen colonies were better off after their earning of Independence because they were not taxed as harshly and forced to give things to the parliament of Great Britain. For example before their Declaration of Independence they were taxed for things like their paper,stamps,and even the tea they drank (although this made their tea cheaper which is why the Boston tea party happened they kept lowering their prices and raises everyone elses prices so no one would want anyone else's tea.) After that those taxes were taken away and weren't as harsh and were enabled inalienable rights and freedoms to have a voice upon what their taxes were and what was to be taxed.
