Divide the total amount she paid for the shares by the amount of shares she bought:


2980 / 20 = 149

The value of a single share is $149.

Nice and simple. I'll explain it to you, not just give the answer.

Now, 20 shares = 2980, lets make shares = x, which means it turns to

20x = $2980

Now, you'd simply solve for X, which is done by dividing 2980 by 20, which gets you

x = 149 (cost of one share)
