The tibioemoral joint is synovial joint between the distal femur and the proximal tibia is commonly known as the knee joint. The knee joint allows for flexion and extension (and a small degree of medial and lateral rotation).
Posterior tibiofibular ligament is not part of the tibiofemoral joint.
