PLZ HELP 60 POINTS!!!!

A fish tank, in the shape of a rectangular prism with dimensions 40 inches by 17 inches by 26 inches, is 95% filled with water. A solid log is placed into the tank, sinks to the bottom, and makes water spill out. The log is shaped like a cylinder with a radius of 3 inches and a height of 33 inches.

So, how much water spilled out of the tank?

95\%=0.95

The volume of a rectangular prism:


V_p=40\cdot17\cdot26=17,680\ in^3

The volume of water:


V_w=0.95\cdot17,680=16,796\ in^3

Different:


V_o-V_w=17,680-16,796=884\ in^3

The volume of a log:


V_l=\pi\cdot3^2\cdot33=\pi\cdot9\cdot33=297\pi\ in^3\approx297\cdot3.14=932.58\ in^3

The volume of water that spilled out of the tank:


V=932.58-884=48.58\ in^3

Answer: Approx 48.6 in³ of water.
