Take 2y^3-3y-5 from y^3-6y^2+5y
so

y^3- 6y^2+ 5y - (2y^3-3y-5)
= y^3 - 6y^2 + 5y - 2y^3 + 3y + 5
= -y^3 - 6y^2 + 8y + 5

hope it helps
