Shakespeare's play "Julius Caesar", despite its title, revolves around the ideals and conflicts of Brutus. Caesar is slain by Brutus due to his dangerous ambition and tyranny. Brutus is considered the protagonist for we get to know his thoughts and beliefs in a Rome without a corrupt ruler, however, simultaneously we witness the assassination of Rome's leader by Brutus's hands, deed which makes him a foe of Rome.
