Sister Elizabeth Kenny was revolutionary for her time. She helped to treat many people, and helped them recover from polio, and infantile paralysis. She introduced the idea of applying heat and muscle retraining for patients with polio, and infantile paralysis. Her patients were said to have had little to no after effects of her treatments.
