For this case we have that the equation of the straight line in its generic form is given by:

y = mx + b

Where,

  • m: slope of the line
  • b: intersection with the vertical axis.

We have then for this case:

m = -3\\b = 5

Substituting values we have:

y = -3x + 5

Answer:

The equation that represents the slope-intercept form of the line is:

y = -3x + 5

y = -3x + 5

When creating a line in slope intercept form, the -3 always goes right next to the x after the equals sign. Also, the y intercepts y value (the second part of the parenthesis) just gets added on at the end of the equation.
