A population of animals is permanently split by a natural barrier into two separate populations in different environments. After a long period of time the two populations will evolve into separate species.
The separation of a small group of individuals from the main population is known as geographic isolation.A trait with low survival value to the members of a population will most likely decrease in frequency from one generation to the next.

After a long period of time the TWO POPULATIONS WILL EVOLVE INTO SEPARATE SPECIES.
There are two different types of speciation and the type of speciation described above is called allopatric speciation. Allopatric speciation is brought about by changes in the geographical location of the two species. Researchers believe that this particular method is the most common way by which specie formation occur.
