I. Sexual reproduction: it involves the combination of the genome (gamete) of a male and female living organism during fertilization.

II. Asexual reproduction: it involves the cloning of a living organism to produce an offspring because there is only a single parent.

A disadvantage of asexual reproduction is that it does not lead to genetic variation in a population because the offsprings are only able to inherit the gene of a single parent. Therefore, the genetic structure of the offspring would remain the same as that of its parent or clone.
