An astronaut is using a hammer to work on a satellite. His safety harness becomes unattached and he begins to float away from the satellite. He can propel himself back to the satellite using his jetpack that has a built-in nitrogen-jet small joystick. Newton's third law of motion states for every action there is an opposite and equal reaction, wherein the astronaut's case, the jetpack exerts a force that will allow him to propel himself back to the satellite.
