Which statement about the points (0, 3), (2, 8), (8, 2), and (0, 1) is true?

All four points are in Quadrant I.
The points (0, 3) and (0, 1) are the same distance from the y-axis.
All but one of the points are in Quadrant I.
The point (8, 2) is the closest to the x-axis.

Answer:

The points (0, 3) and (0, 1) are the same distance from the y-axis.

Explanation:

Given points are,

(0, 3), (2, 8), (8, 2), (0, 1),

In an order pair the first value represents x and second value represents y in the coordinate plane,

Since, in first quadrant both x and y are positive,

(2, 8) and (8, 2) are lying in first quadrant.

Now, the value of x represents the distance from y-axis and value of y represents the distance from x-axis,

∵ 1 < 2 < 3 < 8,

i.e. (0, 1) is closest to the x-axis.

Now, both (0, 3) and (0, 1) are lying in the y-axis,

i.e. the points (0, 3) and (0, 1) are the same distance from the y-axis.

Hence, only SECOND statements is true.

The points (0, 3) and (0, 1) are the same distance from the y-axis.

_____
It is true because both these points lie ON the y-axis.
