For every 3 cans of vegetables purchased, you get 1 free can. Tessie went home with 32 cans of vegetables. How many cans did she have to pay for?

1. Shortly, 24 = 75%*32, because you are paying for 3 out of 4 cans (75% out of 100%)
2.
32 = (3 purchased +1 free )*X times
X = 8, Purchased = 3*x = 3*8=24
