Given: A 4-foot-long sandwich is cut into servings that are each
(1)/(3) foot long.

We need to find the number of serving the 4 foot long sandwich will have if each serving is
(1)/(3) foot long. To find the number of servings we divide the 4 foot sandwich by
(1)/(3 ) foot.

Number of serving the 4 foot long sandwich= 4 ÷
(1)/(3)

When we divide we convert division sign to multiplication and the second fraction flips. 4 x
(1 )/(3) =12

There are 12 servings in a 4 foot long sandwich.

total size of sandwich= L = 4ft
one serving = 1/3 of sandwich
So,
total no. of servings= 4/0.333 =12
