From the graph of f(x) , the vertex is at (4,1)

In the graph of g(x), the vertex is at (-2,1)

From the vertex point (4,1) the graph of g(x) is shifted 6 units to the left to reach the point (-2,1)

x is 4,

g(x)= f(x+k)

g(-2) = f(4+k)

4-(-2)= 6

So k= 6
