If sin θ = 7 over 25, use the Pythagorean Identity to find cos θ. cos θ = ± 17 over 24 cos θ = ± 17 over 25 cos θ = ± 24 over 25 cos θ = ± 24 over 7

\sin^2\theta+\cos^2\theta=1

\implies\cos^2\theta=1-\left(\frac7{25}\right)^2=(576)/(625)\implies\cos\theta=\pm(24)/(25)
