Read the passage from “A Quilt of a Country”. The author describes many ways Americans live side by side with other people from all walks of life. Part of the passage states, “One of the things that the U.S. stands for is this vexing notion that a great nation can consist entirely of refugees from other nations, that people of different, even warring religions and cultures can live, if not side by side, then on either side of the country’s Chester Avenues.” Using information from the text, write an introduction to a short story that will feature new neighbors from different backgrounds and the humorous yet caring relationship they will develop. Be sure your introduction establishes the story’s setting, point of view, and primary conflict.

Answer: Iwoul use the R.A.C.E method

Explanation: The R.A.C.E strategy is a method used to thoroughly answer a question. First, writers restate the question in a full sentence (R – RESTATE). Then, writers answer the question in a brief statement (A – ANSWER). After that they CITE (C) and in the last part they EXPLAIN (E).
