If the average of 8 numbers is 12, what is the sum of the 8 numbers?

Either I don't understand the question fully or this has a whole lot of answers.
For example, if all the numbers were 12 there would be an average of 12 and would equal 96 as the sum

If the average of 8 numbers is 12, that means that the sum of the numbers divided by 8 is equal to 12.

To find the sum, we need to multiply 12 by 8:

sum/8 = 12
