2/9
because
2/3 are blue
2/6 or 1/3 are red/blue
You would multiply to get 2/9 since 2*1=2 and 3*3=9

Given Two-thirds of the students in a class are wearing blue jeans

.Or
(2)/(3) Of students wear blue Jeans.

Number of students wearing red shirts is Two-sixths of the students who are wearing blue jeans .

Number of students wearing red shirts =
(2)/(6) of(2)/(3)

Simplifying we have:

(2)/(6) of(2)/(3) =(4)/(18) = (2)/(9)

Fraction of the students in the class are wearing blue jeans red shirts =
(2)/(9)
