King Midas, in Greek mythology is known to be one of the most kind and caring king. Story goes that Silenus, a satyr,  one day slept on his gardens and was then brought to King Midas where his life was spared. Seeing his kind act, Dionysius the god granted him his wish that whatever he touches becomes gold. He then experienced all the effects of his greed and the curse was reversed letting the king learn important lessons. A person who visits King Midas, wanted to learn wisdom from his bitter experience.

King Midas was in his treasure room when an old satyr appeared. Midas recognised him as Silenus, a friend of the god Dionysus, and invited him to stay.

Dionysus was pleased and offered to grant Midas a wish. He wished that everything he would touch became gold.

After some time, he realized that all the gold in the world would not be better than the love of her little daughter, or the smell of the roses, so he asked Dionysus to remove the spell.
