if you dissolve 89.0g of sodium sulfate in 1.5 L of water , what is the molarity of the resulting solution ?

Molarity = 0.4 mol.L⁻¹

Solution:

Molarity is given as,

Molarity = Moles / Volume of Solution
Also,
Moles = Mass / M.mass
So,
Molarity = Mass / (M.mass × Volume of Solution)

Data Given,
Mass = 89 g

M.mass of Na₂SO₄ = 142 g.mol⁻¹

Volume = 1.5 L

Putting Values,

Molarity = 85 g ÷ (142 g.mol⁻¹ × 1.5 L)

Molarity = 0.399 ≈ 0.4 mol.L⁻¹
