How many neutrons does element X have if its atomic number is 34 and its mass number is 96?

In order to find number of neutrons, use this formula: Mass number-number of protons. The number of protons is equal to the atomic number.

Using this, you do 96-34 to get 62 neutrons. Hope this is helpful!
