1 pound= 16 ounces

STEP 1:
convert both sets of weights to ounces only; multiply pounds by 16 ounces per pound, then add the rest of the ounces given

11 pounds 5 ounces
= 11 * 16 oz/lb
= 176 oz + 5 ounces
= 181 ounces

1 pound 15 ounces
= 1 * 16 oz/lb
= 16 oz + 15 ounces
= 31 ounces

STEP 2:
subtract calculated ounces from step 1

= 181 oz - 31 oz
= 150 ounces

STEP 3:
divide step 2 ounces by 16 ounces pee pound to convert back to mixed pounds and ounces

= 150 oz ÷ 16 oz/lb
= 9 pounds 6 ounces

ANSWER: There are 9 pounds 6 ounces difference

Hope this helps! :)
