The whole thing has to equal 90 degrees. So the expression has to equal 40 degrees. The only number that satisfies the expression is 5. (5(5)+15)=40.

90-50=40 so with the 40 left we now subtract 15 from 40 to get 25, divide 25 by 5 to get x=5
