A 10-kg block (B) sits on a table. A 6.0-kg block (A) sits on top of the 10-kg block. If there is nothing on top of the 6.0-kg block, what is the force that the table exerts on the 10-kg block? F = N.

Well if Block A is on top of Block B, then the total mass is the sum of Block A and Block B. Therefore the total mass is 16kg. Since the blocks are not moving, the force of gravity is equal to the normal force.

F_(g) = F_(N) F_(g)=(16kg)*(9.806 (m)/(s^2) )= 156.896N F_(N) = 156.896N
