A wheel of radius a inches spins at a constant rate of b revolutions per second. What is the linear velocity, in inches per second, of a point on the edge of the wheel?

Radius = r = a inches
Angular velocity = w = b revolutions per second = 2πb radians per second

Linear velocity = v = r w = a x 2πb inches per second

v = 2πab inches per second.

So, the linear velocity of a point on the edge of the wheel will be 2πab inches per second.
