There are 2 squares, and the ratio of their perimeters is 5:8. If the area of the first square is 225m², then what is the area of the second one?

we know that

the ratio of the perimeters is equals to the scale factor

scale factor=5/8

scale factor=measure smaller square/measure larger square

let

smaller square=first square

larger square=second square

area smaller square=[scale factor]²*area larger square

so

area larger square=area smaller square/[scale factor]²

scale factor=5/8

area smaller square=225 m²

area larger square=225/[5/8]²----> 225/(25/64)-- > 225*(64/25)----- > 576 m²

the answer is

the area of the second square (larger square) is 576 m²
