Aung San Suu Kyi is a politician in the Southeast Asian country of Myanmar, former Burma.

She was the first women to have high positions in the government system in this country. Her official positions ranged from minster of foreign affairs, to minister of education, minister for electric power and energy, serving into the president's office...

She is well known for her fight for democracy in Myanmar for the past few decades. Despite her party winning the elections on multiple occasions with significant majority, the military junta hasn't allowed her to rule the country and doesn't want to hand in their power. She has even been in home prison for 15 years after she won the first elections in which she participated.

For her fight for democracy, she has even won a Nobel Peace Prize in 1991.
