Effects of growth hormone on the tissues of the body can generally be described as anabolic which means they are involved in processes of synthesis. It promotes bone growth by increasing calcium retention and increases the mineralization of bone, increases protein synthesis, promotes gluconeogenesis (production of glucose) in the liver, promotes degradation of lipids- lipolysis.
