Final answer:

To calculate the probability of passing a 10-question true-false quiz with at least 70%, we determine the chances of getting 7 or more questions correct. There's a 50% chance of guessing each question correctly. Without specific calculations, we can infer that being in the top 30% of a similar distribution would mean a good chance of passing.

Step-by-step explanation:

To determine the probability of a student passing a 10-question true-false quiz by guessing and achieving at least a 70%, we need to calculate the chances of getting 7 or more questions correct. A passing grade of 70% would require getting at least 7 out of 10 questions right. Since each question is true or false, there's a 50% chance (or probability of 0.5) of answering each question correctly by guessing.

For exact calculations, we would use the binomial probability formula, but since definitive numbers are not given in your question, we can refer to a standard probability distribution. According to Solution 2.21, 30% of students answered 16 or more questions correctly out of a larger set. If we apply this kind of distribution to our 10-question scenario, being in the top 30% would likely be akin to getting a higher number of questions correct, implying a good probability of passing the test. However, this solution may not accurately reflect the true-false quiz scenario without precise calculations or more information.

It is hard to say, but each section is 500 points, but on the additional there is an additional requirement to score at least 2 out of 8 i believe it is on the writing prompt to actually pass the writing portion
