Amber’s square flower garden is twice as long as her square vegetable garden. What is the ratio of the area of the vegetable garden to the area of the flower garden?

If they are both squares, then if one side is twice as long, then the area is 4 times as big, so the ratio is 1:4

Side ratio a:b
(Surface) Area ratio a^2:b^2
Volume ratio a^3:b^3
