a population of birds, with various size beaks, eats seeds. smail seed can be eaten by birds with small beaks. larger, thicker seeds can only be eaten by birds with larger beaks, thicker beaks. suppose there is a shortage of small seeds but are still many large seeds

If the shortage lasts a long time, the short beaked birds' population will decrease, if the seeds disappeared, they will either evolve or go extinct, the larger beaked birds' population would stay the same.

Answer:

With the scarcity of small seeds there will be a drastic change in the population of small-billed birds.

Step-by-step explanation:

As small-billed birds feed on small seeds, the scarcity of these seeds will cause major problems for this population. In the short term, the population of small-billed birds will decrease, as they will suffer from a lack of food. The rest of the population will go through a process of natural selection and will have to adapt and evolve to be able to feed themselves. Those who are not "selected" will die.
