Cyl. vol.: V = pi*r^2*h

Here,

V = 864 in^3 = pi*(12 in)^2*h

864 in^3
so that h = --------------------- = 1.91 inches, or approx. 2 inches.
3.14*144 in^2

As, the formula for volume of cylinder is:
V= πr²h
(864in³)=π(12in)²h
h=6/π in
OR
by putting the value of π we get,
h=1.91in
