Jim’s dog weighs 18 pounds 10 ounces. His cat weighs 6 pounds 3 ounces. How many more ounces does Jim’s dog weigh than his cat? PLEASE HELP HARD!

STEP 1:
convert cat and dog's weights to ounces; multiply dog or cat's weight by
16 ounces per pound and then add the additional ounces each weighs

1 pound= 16 ounces

DOG
= (18 pounds * 16 oz/lb) + 10 ounces
= 288 + 10
= 298 ounces

CAT
= (6 pounds * 16 oz/lb) + 3 ounces
= 96 + 3
= 99 ounces


STEP 2:
subtract the difference in the dog's and cat's weights from step 1

= 298 oz dog - 99 oz cat
= 199 ounces


ANSWER: Jim's dog weighs 199 ounces more than his cat.

the dog weighs 99 ounces more than the cat. you just have to convert to ounces then subtract.
