How might scientists knowledge and monoculture farming effect societal decisions

Scientific knowledge about monoculture farming may affect societal decisions by: farmers choosing to practice organic farming, to use heirloom plants, or to produce crops that have been genetically modified. Similarly, governments could choose to pass laws that require farmers to practice alternate methods of farming. Also, customers may begin to willingly choose products that have not been produced using monoculture farming.

This was given in our Chemistry subject so fortunately I hope this helps.

In mono culture farming, they produce a single specie of a livestock or plant in large number or quantity.

Yes it is very effective but producing a mass number of a single organism in a specific area will risk of endangering the existence of a certain and specific nutrient - this is because that large number of organism is basically eating the same thing.

This will actually lead to societal decision such as the founding of The Livestock conservancy and other environmental protection organization
