Stardust the unicorn, covered a distance of 50 miles on his first trip to the forest. On a later trip he travelled 300 miles while going three times as fast. His new time compared to the old time was:

Now use the above formula by substituting distance 50 and speed as x.


T_1= (50)/(x)

Similarly, time taken in second trip is:


T_2= (300)/(3x)

Now, Compare new time with old.


(50)/(x)= (300)/(3x)


(50)/(x)= (100)/(x)


(50)/(x)= 2*(50)/(x)

Therefore, his new time compared to the old time was twice as much.
