Answer: Ecological succession can be defined as the process by which changes occur in the ecosystem community over the time.

Explanation: Ecological succession is caused by the different different factors like climate factors ( fire, erosions, wind ) , biotic factors (living things ) etc.

There are two types of Ecological succession :

1) Primary Succession - In this type of succession plant or animal established in an newly formed habitat (such as in rock) for the first time.

2) Secondary Succession -This type of succession occurs by the disturbance like landslide, fire, human activities. So by these type of disturbance habitat that was previously occupied by the organisms is recolonized according to the changes by disturbance.
