The simple answer would be NO

For a free society to operate, the government needs to follow, the will of the people and the power of the vote.

However, once big businesses started to interact with governments, they were able to get certain 'advantages' immorally.

In the early years of the United States, kickbacks and bribes had become common, while in the modern era, big businesses work through a legal framework of 'Lobbying' and donating money for political campaigns.

While legal, many believe this is an unethical practice which has carried on for too long and which actually influences governments to make laws in favor of big business rather than the ordinary citizen.
