exothermic because exothermic reactions transfer energy to the surroundings. Endothermic reactions take in energy from the surroundings, so if you want to warms people's hands you should use exothermic chemical reaction for the product.

Answer: Exothermic reaction.

Explanation: An exothermic reaction is a reaction that occurs and heat is given away from the reacting system to its surrounding. While an endothermic reaction is that which occurs and heat is absorbed from the surrounding of the reacting system.

If you stay close to a system that gives away heat, you will begin to feel warm because you will be receiving the heat that the system is giving out making your temperature to increase. A system that gives away heat is an exothermic system.

On the other hand, if you stay close to a system that absorbs heat from the surrounding, you will begin to feel cool. The explanation to this is that the system takes away heat from you being in its surrounding and that causes your temperature to drop. A system that absorbs heat from its surrounding is an endothermic system.

Therefore if a product would be developed to warm people's hands, then such products should be an exothermic system to give away heat to its surrounding so that as people bring their hands close to its vicinity they receive the heat and get warmed up.
