From a launch pad, a rocket is launched at an angle of 60? relative to sea level.

After the rocket has traveled a total distance of 300 feet, what is its vertical height above sea level? Round the distance to the nearest foot.

Vertical height = a0 feet.

This is the concept of trigonometry:
The vertical height will be given by the formula:
sin θ= opposite/hypotenuse
where:
θ=60°
opposite=vertical height=a0
hypotenuse=slanting side=300 ft
thus plugging the values we get:
sin 60=a0/300
hence
a0=300 sin 60
thus evaluating this we get
a0=259.81 ft

Thus the vertical height is 259.81 ft~260 ft
