If y varies directly as X ad Y=7 when X=-5, find Y when X is 20

Y would equal -28 when X equals 20.

Since they vary directly, all you do is divide 20 by -5 to find the variation between X and Y. You will get -4 which you multiply to 7, to get you final answer. Thus making Y equal to -28.
