Why do you think people are so fascinated by crime and criminals?
I think people are so fascinated by crime and criminals because they want to understand their reasons, their motives. They want to understand what brought them over the edge and also they want to believe either that all people are human, or on the contrary that these people do not deserve a thing in return.
What is it about people like Ed Gein or about crime/law television and movies that we find interesting?
Again, it is a matter of understanding and importance. There is also a component of fear in the sense that we do not understand those behaviours and so we want to have a better perception. In law case, there is also a component of admiration and trust for such an important job. At the base, there is always the need to understand.
