The graph below shows four straight lines, P, Q, R, and S: graph of line P going through ordered pairs negative 2, negative 5 and 0, 3. Graph of line Q going through ordered pairs negative 1, negative 2 and 1, 6. Graph of line R going through ordered pairs negative 1, negative 4 and 1, 4. Graph of line S going through ordered pairs 0, negative 3 and 2, 5 Which line is represented by the function f(x) = 4x - 3?

let m be the slope m= (y₂-y₁)/(x₂-x₁) and y-y₁=m(x-x₁)

p: (2,-5) and (0,3)

m= (3+5)/(0-2)= 8/-2= -4 slope doesn't match.

q:(-1,-2) and (1,6)

m= (6-(-2))/(1-(-1))=8/2=4

y+2=4(x+1)

y+2=4x+4

y=4x+2, not the equation.

r: (-1,-4) and (1,4)

m= (4-(-4)/(1-(-1)= 4

y-(-4)=4(x-(-1))

y=4x not the equation

s: (0,-3) and (2,5)

m=(5-(-3))/(2)= 4

y-(-3)=4(x-0)

y+3=4x

y=4x-3 so graph S is f(x)=4x-3
